CFPB Community Bank Advisory Council Meets Next Week

 09/13/17 – The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s (CFPB) Community Bank Advisory Council (CBAC) will meet to discuss the CFPB’s Know Before You Owe: Overdraft and financial empowerment initiatives.

The CBAC will meet on Thursday, September 28, 2017, 3:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. eastern daylight time at the CFPB, 1275 First Street NE, Washington, DC 20002.

The CBAC is an advisory council of the CFPB established Director Cordrary under his authority granted by the Dodd-Frank Act. The purpose of the CBAC is to advise the Bureau in the exercise of its functions under the federal consumer financial laws as they pertain to community banks with total assets of $10 billion or less.

An agenda for the meeting is available at consumerfinance.gov.

Written comments are accepted from the public and should be sent to CFPB_CABandCouncilsEvents@cfpb.gov, a minimum of seven days in advance of the meeting. The comments will be provided to the CBAC members for their consideration.

Individuals who wish to attend the CBAC meeting must RSVP to cfpb_cabandcouncilsevents@cfpb.gov by noon, Wednesday, September 27, 2017. Include “CBAC” in the subject line of the RSVP.

A recording and transcript of this meeting will be available after the meeting on the CFPB’s Web site consumerfinance.gov.
